Phoenix Point is out now on the Epic Game Store and is pending release on Xbox One. The statement on the blog gave no ETA or expected release date for Phoenix Point on console. Snapshot games wants to get the game to a level comparable to the PC release before launching on the Microsoft and Windows Store and Xbox Game Pass. It turns out most of the barriers to the games' release on Xbox are legal. Since we want to make sure all players have access to all versions of Phoenix Point regardless of where they choose to play, we need to get this working before we can release. Specifically, we are currently unable to make the same content available on Microsoft’s platform that is available to players on other platforms.

While these are now mostly complete, they have given rise to a number of new delays. Compared to other platforms we’re on these platforms require a number of pre-requisites, from Microsoft certification to legal documentation review. Various tools and techniques will need to be used while it is just as important to adopt a sound turn-based strategy in conjunction with other facets of the human resistance. It is the ultimate job of the playing community to repel this race from the planet. We were exceedingly busy getting the game itself ready, and being inexperienced with Game Pass and the Microsoft Store, we simply had not properly prepared the groundwork to get the game released on time on these platforms. Phoenix Point takes place within a world that has been invaded by an alien species. The answer to why Phoenix Pointdid not hit its release date on Xbox is far less exciting than anything fans might have rampantly speculated.
